Red River Dance is one of 50+ Darby's Dancer chapters in the nation providing dance for people of all ages with special needs!
Darby’s Dancers is a 501(c)(3) organization founded by the parents of Darby Jones of Huntsville, Alabama. Darby’s Dancers provides an opportunity for children with special needs to participate in the performing arts through dance education.
At once-a-week classes, Darby's Dancers learn all types of dance in a fun, encouraging atmosphere. Dancers in the program gain confidence, coordination, strength and lifelong friends, all while feeling like a star. DD also provides volunteer opportunities for teens. Our youth volunteers learn important lessons in responsibility and friendship by providing one-on-one assistance to each of Darby's dancers.
DD classes are taught by volunteer dance instructors and take place in donated studio space. The charitable contributions of youth volunteers, dance instructors, community dance studios and local businesses allow DD to provide dance classes, supplies and costumes to dancers with special needs at no cost to their parents.
Dancers wishing to register for a Darby's Dancers class may register online by creating an account and selecting your class! We also ask that dancers fill out a Student Information form so we can better understand your student's needs. Our chapter also requires a doctor's notice that they are able to participate in dance! If you have any questions about our registration process, please email to connect with our Outreach Coordinator!
Those interested in volunteering for Darby's Dancers may fill out the volunteer application and send in to our Outreach Coordination or turn it in to the front desk! Please contact us with any questions about volunteering.

Miss Evelyn Ness, a dancer in our Darby's Dancers program, defeated cancer on October 23rd, 2019 after 980 days of treatment! Evelyn came to dance class the very same day she rang the bell signaling she was cancer free.
"The Darby's Dancer's program has had a huge impact on Evelyn during her cancer treatment. All of this enabled her to be a kid and enjoy life experiences even when she was at her worst point of treatment" says her mother Denna Ness.
"Evelyn will dance anywhere, anytime and will get anyone to join who can. RRD showed us how strong she can be, that despite going through treatment and not feeling well, she would still dance through the pain. She is stronger than anyone I know."
Evelyn's courage and spirit are inspiring, and we at Red River Dance are so very proud of her!
Evelyn is featured on the cover of Fargo Monthly's 2020 special Giving Hearts Day issue! The issue details her story and her journey through treatment and everything that dance enabled her to do while battling cancer.
