Nikki Black has been dancing since she was a young girl and continues to find great passion in dance. Nikki graduated from NDSU with a major in Family and Consumer Sciences Education in 2012. She taught FACS at both Oak Grove and Davies High School from 2012-2015. Knowing her real passion was in dance and raising a family, Nikki is now our full-time Competition Director at RRD. She has experience in many genres of dance, including: jazz, lyrical, ballet, contemporary, acrobatics, fitness and hip hop. Originally from Minot, Nikki danced with Rinat Mouzafarov’s Dance and Ballet Theatre, along with Studio X, directed by Joshua Wise. Throughout her training, Nikki attended numerous statewide, regional, and national competitions and trained with famous dancers and choreographers. Nikki's dance teaching career has lead her to multiple high point awards, choreography awards and even Masquerade's Top Studio Award, three years in a row. She has also been able to learn from mentors, teachers and choreographers across the nation. She consistently finds ways to inspire her fire for dance and teaching youth how to grow in dance. Nikki has lead RRD to become one of the most well-known competitive dance programs in the region. She has been teaching dance with Red River Dance since 2009 and continues to enjoy every second of it.

Alexis grew up in Chaska, Minnesota. She graduated from North Dakota State University in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. Alexis began her training at Stage Door of Performing Arts and continued at Metropolitan Dance Alliance where she danced competitively for 10 years. There, she trained in ballet, tap, jazz. lyrical, contemporary, musical theater and hip-hop. Alexis has also been the choreographer for Jasper's Theater located in Park Rapids, MN and has taught and choreographed for Trollwood Performing Arts School in Moorhead. She is filled with gratitude for the opportunities that Red River Dance has given her and couldn't be happier to blend her passion for business and love for dance every day.

Micayla is originally from Colgate, North Dakota. She is currently a junior at North Dakota State University and is majoring in Psychology with an interest in counseling with minors in English Writing & Human Development and Family Science. Micayla's dancing nieces introduced her to Red River Dance. Although she is not a dancer herself, she loves to watch the dancers perform and grow in their skills. Her favorite thing about RRD is seeing the dancers smiles when they come in and seeing how much confidence they gain through dance! Amanda has been teaching at Red River Dance & Performing Company since 2007 and has over 22 years of dance experience. She graduated from NDSU in 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations and Advertising with a double minor in Management Communication and Psychology. In high school, she was head choreographer for the two-time UDA national champion West Fargo High School dance team. Amanda has traveled to over seven countries across Europe and Asia and enjoys using her cultural experience to teach dance and connect with her students. She enjoys expressing her creativity through teaching all ages in a variety of styles. She has experience teaching jazz, lyrical, hip hop, ballet/tap and ballroom. In addition, she finds passion in teaching the competitive teams at Red River Dance. Amanda also serves as the Vice President of Culture at Gate City Bank.
Hannah has been dancing for fifteen years and has been teaching for the past six. She has training in ballet, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, and tap. She graduated from Minot High School in 2011 and is currently attending NDSU, where she was a member of the Dance Team. Hannah has also competed at numerous dance competitions and has attended several conventions throughout her career.
Mackenzie is originally from Page, ND. She fell in love with dance at the young age of four when she began her training at Katie Lien School of Dance. There, she was trained in many styles including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, hip-hop, Irish Riverdance, and pointe. She began assisting classes at Katie Lien School of Dance at the age of 12 and later, taught classes there for 2 years. She also created a summer dance camp program in her hometown to introduce local youth to dance and ran the program for 5 years. Mackenzie joined Red River Dance and Performing Company in 2015 where she is able to continue to share her passion for dance with students of all ages. In addition to her teaching, she is currently a senior at NDSU pursuing a degree in Retail Merchandising.
Kristi Reich began dancing in 1994 and teaching in 2004. She began her training at Let's Dance Studio in Bismarck, ND. At Let's Dance Studio, Kristi was trained in jazz, ballet, pointe and lyrical. She also competed with Let's Dance Studio for eight years and was a part of the national award winning Senior Company Dance Company of North Dakota. Kristi joined RRD&PC in the Spring of 2012 and we are thrilled to have her on staff. Since joining, she has had the opportunity to take class and learn from many different choreographers throughout the region. During her career here at RRD, she has choreographed many award winning routines and has been recognized for her choreography multiple times. With over 10 years of teaching experience, Kristi is excited to develop every dancer's skills and inspire them to be the best person and dancer they can be! To add to her above talents - Kristi also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from NDSU. She is originally from Bismarck, ND and currently resides in Fargo with her husband and three sons.
Hailey Wilmer is from Moorhead Minnesota and has been dancing for 15 years. She started dance at a small studio in Detroit Lakes Minnesota and later on switched to Camria Ballet Academy in Moorhead Minnesota where she continued to learn ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical and other styles of dance. Hailey is a graduate from Minnesota State University Moorhead spring 2017 and is has a B.S. degree in Multi-Media Journalism and a minor in Theater Dance and also received a certificate in publishing. She was also a member of the MSUM Dragon Dance Team for three years. Hailey also had the opportunity to be a member of the Straw Hat Players for three summers in Cats, as Victoria, Blame it on the Movies as a featured dancer, The Wedding Singer as an ensemble member and Hello Dolly! as Ermengarde. Hailey is currently working as a dance instructor at Red River Dance and Performing Company, a Florist at Family Fare and Coaches the MSUM Dance Team. She has a strong passion for dance and sharing that passion with others is one of her favorite things wether it be, teaching, performing or choreographing she loves it all
Courtney is originally from Centennial, Colorado and has been dancing for 22 years. She was classically trained in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, modern, pointe, and character at her home studio, Metropolitan Academy of Dance. At Metropolitan, Courtney was a member of the Senior Company and participated in several competitions and intensive workshops on a yearly basis, as well as performance opportunities to the 2008 Orange Bowl, New York City, and a Royal Caribbean cruise. She was heavily involved in her high school theatre’s musical productions, including Quilters, Beauty and the Beast, as a dancing napkin, and Cinderella, as Cinderella. Courtney has been teaching dance for four years, has participated in teaching conventions and workshops across the country and has coordinated performance opportunities around the community and with Dance the World at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. Courtney attended Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD and was a member of the dance team The Augustana Vikettes, serving as captain for her junior and senior years. She graduated from Augustana in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, accompanied by minors in English, History and Communication Studies. In her free time she loves to read, watch Criminal Minds, cheer on the Denver Broncos, and spend time with family and friends.
Rachel began dancing at the age of three and entered competitive dance at the age of ten . Training under Kathi Halbert, Gigi Hartman and Kristen Messner, she practiced jazz, contemporary, and ballet, passing her Cecchetti Method Grade Five Professional Examination in 2008. While completing her undergraduate degree at Marietta College in Ohio, Rachel instructed at the Marietta Dance Academy, teaching a variety of classes to all ages and coaching competitive teams, winning national awards for choreography. Additionally, she had the incredible opportunity to attend workshops through Dance Masters of America. In 2012, she moved to Mission, South Dakota and established recreational dance programs for elementary and middle school-age students on the Rosebud Indian Reservation. Rachel also instructed ballet, pointe, jazz and tap classes at Dance Institute in Denver, Colorado.
Rachel relocated to Fargo in 2016 and is the Dean of Students at West Fargo High School. She is excited for another wonderful year with the Red River Dance family!
Megan Kratcha grew up, and is currently raising her family in West Fargo, ND. She was a competitive gymnast at American Gold Gymnastics from 2nd grade through her Senior year. She competed as a level 10 gymnast for 7 years during that time, and competed in meets all over the country. She started coaching in the summer of 2000 and coached recreational gymnastics, high school, and competitive gymnastics until the spring 2013. She studied Elementary Education at NDSU/VCSU and graduated with her bachelor’s degree in 2007. She went on to get her Masters in Reading at MSUM Mankato. She is currently in her 10th year of teaching at West Fargo Public Schools. Her and her husband have two daughters, Claire (6) and Aniston (3), and a son, Lincoln (1). Both her girls currently dance at Red River. She is very excited to get involved and start coaching again.
Mariah Schafer was born and raised in Fargo where she found her love for dance at Red River Dance & Performing Company. She started taking classes at the age of 8 and was on the competitive teams for 9 years. She is trained in styles including ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and contemporary. Mariah is currently a student at NDSU pursuing a degree in Business Administration and Management with a double minor in Dance and Wellness. She also is a member of the NDSU Hip Hop Team where she has held the VP, Lead Choreographer, and PR positions. This is her second year teaching at Red River Dance & Performing Company and is very excited to see old and new faces.
Hello! my name is Kalynne Malmskog. I’ve had a long history with dance taking my first class when I was a preschooler. I took ballet up until I joined my Highschool dance team. I competed all four years of high school on our competitive team. I then went on to dance at NDSU for four years. I captained the team for two years and won two national titles while with the Bison. I’ve coached, choreographed, and taught locally for around 5 years now. I am so happy to call RRD my dance home!
Macy Johnson is from Chaska, MN and is currently an NDSU student studying Management Communications. She danced competitively with Metropolitan Dance Alliance for 15 years and has extensive training in all styles from ballet, lyrical, jazz, tap, hip hop, musical show, and more. As a young dancer, Macy was recognized for her powerful jazz style & technique, winning various scholarship rewards. Her passion for tap and hip hop also led her to receive numerous Judge’s choice awards throughout her competitive career. Growing up in the Twin Cities allowed Macy to be exposed to various Nationally recognized choreographers. She has studied with the best of the best in the dance industry and also had the privilege of teaching along side some of the industry leaders as an assistant for Fluid Dance Convention. Macy has a strong passion and desire to teach the new generation of up and coming dancers. Macy is creative, energetic, eager, and passionate of all things related in the dance world and loves being a part of the RRD family.
Aisha Schafer is originally from Bismarck, North Dakota. She is currently attending North Dakota State University where she is pursuing a degree in Retail Merchandising and Apparel Design Studies. She began her training at a young age at Let’s Dance Studio and continued her training at Studio X. Throughout her career she has attended numerous regional and national dance competitions where she competed as a soloist as well as in small and large groups. This is her second year with Red River Dance and she is so excited to be able to share her passion for dance with her students!
Cris was born and raized in Brazil, and her passion of ballet began when she started to dance at age of 7. She finished her studies after 10 years and earned a degree in Classic Dance from the Brazilian Secretary of Education and Culture. She began teaching ballet for children ages 4 to 10. When she was 17, she joined to a local dance company in Brazin, and from there, she gained experience at a national level by participating in competitions across the country where her team earned major national titles. She also participated in several dance international seminars which helped her improve my skills and teaching ability of ballet for
children and adults. In the last two years, she has created a project for children under poverty line by volunteering to teach classic ballet for children at ages 6-10 years old. This project was a very special experience for Cris, and she was honored to teach and give
these children an opportunity to dance ballet.
Grace Reynolds is from the Twin Cities and is currently a student at NDSU majoring in Business Management. Growing up Grace danced for 15 years at Summit Dance Shoppe in Plymouth MN where she trained in many styles such as Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Contemporary and Hip Hop. She also danced for her high school dance team and was a two year captain. Growing up in the cities, Grace had a lot of opportunities to broaden her dance career especially through competitions. She has competed at Showbiz, Showbiz Nationals (3 time National champion), Primetime, Hall of Fame, Nexstar, Starquest, Starpower and many more. She also had the opportunity to represent NDSU on the dance team as they ranked 3rd in Jazz and 4th in Hip Hop at Nationals in 2018. Grace is very excited to continue her dance career by teaching at Red River Dance!
Kaitlyn Johnson has been dancing for 15 years, and she was a student at Red River Dance and Performing Company for 5 of those years! She is currently a sophomore at North Dakota State University studying Exercise Science with the hopes of going on to Physical Therapy with an emphasis in dance injury. Her time dancing at Red River brought on many accomplishments such as winning a national championship with her team in 2016. She is very excited to continue her love of dance by teaching this year at RRD.
Erin Christenson started dancing when she was 5 years old in her hometown of Pelican Rapids, MN with the Just For Kix program. When she was in high school she was on the high school dance team where she qualified for state 4 years and was selected to be an All-State dancer 3 times. She has won multiple awards at camps and intensives. She is trained in kick, pom, jazz, tap, ballet, modern and contemporary. She is majoring in Elementary Inclusive Education at Minnesota State University Moorhead and is currently a captain on the dance team. This is her first year instructing at Red River Dance Company. The perfect job came about when she decided to combine her passion for children, dance and teaching!
