Join us for our annual intensive August 9th-11th for 3 days packed full of classes to push your skills as a dancer! Designed for dancers ages 5-19. You will be lead by RRD instructors along with Guest Instructors - Trey Barber and Cathy Christenson.

This event is open to all dancers both currently and not currently enrolled at RRD. This intensive is geared for intermediate and advanced dancers.

A veteran in the dance industry, Trey has choreographed and produced projects for professional music artist, Jesse McCartney, NBA dance teams, collegiate dance squads for national showcase and competition, and many dance studios across the country. Other credits include 3X UDA National Championship with the University of St Thomas, NBA Halftime productions with Bell Biv Devoe and BlackStreet.

 

Choreography has been featured on HBO, The View, MTV's TRL, ESPN, Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, and America's Got Talent. 
Trey is also the of the Head Coach of the NBA Jr Dance Squad, The Minnesota Timberwolves “Pups” dance team and recently is a principal actor/dancer for a HealthPartners TV/Online commercial airing now.

CATHY CHRISTENSON

Cathy Christenson is an established artistic ballet director, choreographer, and instructor. She has trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre. Her early career consisted of performing with the Continental Ballet Company where she she has danced many main roles in productions such as, The Nutcracker Suite, Coppelia, Paquita, Carnival of the Animals and Swan Lake to name a few. Her jazz training landed her a place on the Timberwolves Dance Team. She loved the experience and the spirit of being a part of an NBA team.

 

Through the years her students have been recognized as regional and national competition champions as well as receiving several scholarships to colleges and renowned dance companies. Some have become college level dance team captains and state dance champion coaches. She has created several choreography pieces that have been given special recognition as well as producing full length ballets. She currently concentrates on training students in ballet at studios, ballet companies and dance teams.

 

She was the proud owner and director of Metropolitan Dance Alliance for 18 years. She has had 32 years of teaching experience. Her passion for dance is a huge influence on her students. She is a firm believer in being a role model for her students and loves enriching the lives of young aspiring dancers.
